A Coke Story

OK, I know you know coke (who doesn't). it's acclaimed one of the world's top brands, but allow me tell you something's you might not have known about the Coke brand and it's story.

The Coke company is purportedly worth some cool billions dollars but the Coke brand is worth several more (cool) billion dollars than the company itself.

Cola cola is the second most widely used and understood term in the world after the word OK.

There are nearly 10,450 bottles of the various Coke products consumed every second of every day across the globe.

In 1985 it became the first ever soft drink in space.

If all the coca-cola bottles were laid end to end the line will reach to the moon and back 1,677 times over.

The product is bottled in over 900 plants across the world.

The company employs 92800 people worldwide.

OK now to the point lest I get confused for a PR agent for Coke.

In it's first year of operation as a business entity, the coca-cola company sold only 9, yes NINE bottles!

The next time you are tempted to judge the potential of your possibilities by your past or present predicaments which may be a less than enthralling, remember that simple fact: In it's first year of operation, Coke which is now arguably the most consumed product sold only 9 bottles.

Yet today it's the measure of civilization. Here's what I mean: it's believed that if you don't don't have Coke supplied to your community, it's is an undeveloped community. In areas of India where there is no GSM phones yet, even there you'll find a thriving Coke stand. It's that successful and pervasive, yet in it's first year the best that it did was just 9 bottles.

I sometimes imagine if it ever crossed the minds of those early Coke investors to shut down their operation after such abysmal outting. Thank goodness they never did. We would have missed the success story even more than the drink.

In the new month, keep your eyes on your possibilities, it will surely help you tide through any rough time you might be temporarily experiencing.
